Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the well-being of clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to delivering person-centred care. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting clients with mobility and daily routines in accordance with care plans
- Monitoring and recording health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Helping clients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assisting with medication management under supervision
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Driving between different care locations or clients’ homes as required
- Ensuring a safe and clean environment in line with health and safety regulations
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to operate IT systems for record keeping and care planning purposes
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Driving licence is desirable for roles involving travel between locations
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to health and social care environments
