Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team in our marina side location at Sutton Harbour, Plymouth.
8-20 hour per week ( including weekends)
Providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patrons receive outstanding service, from taking orders to delivering food and beverages. Your ability to engage with guests and provide recommendations will enhance their experience and contribute to the overall success of our cafe.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings.
- Take accurate orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen staff.
- Upsell menu items by suggesting additional dishes or drinks to enhance the dining experience.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and efficient service.
Skills
- Strong guest services skills with a focus on hospitality and creating memorable experiences
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively, enhancing both guest satisfaction and restaurant sales.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks during busy periods.
- Experience in food preparation or culinary settings is advantageous but not essential.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well within a team environment.

Qualifications
- Strong previous hospitality experience with a focus on serving 1 year +
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in guest services and upselling techniques
- Demonstrated hospitality skills to provide exceptional customer service
