The Project Advisory Group is seeking an experienced, client-facing Senior Technical Consultant to join our technology advisory practice in London. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients, translating complex business requirements into scalable architecture, cloud transformation roadmaps, and modern IT solutions.
Working closely with C-suite executives, enterprise architects, and engineering teams, you will lead technical discovery workshops, evaluate legacy infrastructure, and oversee solution delivery across complex engagements. This position balances strategic technical advisory with hands-on solution design, offering opportunities to shape digital transformation strategies for top-tier UK client organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Technical Strategy: Partner with client stakeholders to assess existing IT landscapes, identify technical bottlenecks, and define enterprise technology roadmaps.
- Solution Architecture & Design: Architect secure, scalable enterprise solutions across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), hybrid environments, and application modernisations.
- Requirements Discovery & Scoping: Conduct technical discovery sessions, capture functional/non-functional requirements, and craft comprehensive technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and solution blueprints.
- Delivery Oversight & Quality Assurance: Provide technical governance during implementation phases, ensuring delivery aligns with architectural designs, budget constraints, and client expectations.
- Stakeholder & Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with business development teams to support pre-sales engagements, deliver technical demonstrations, and respond to RFPs/RFIs.
- Thought Leadership & Mentorship: Stay ahead of emerging technology trends, author advisory whitepapers, and mentor junior consultants in technical delivery and client management.
Skills & QualificationsEssential
- 5+ years of commercial experience as a Technical Consultant, Solutions Architect, or Senior Systems Consultant within a consultancy or professional services environment.
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end technical solutions and cloud migration strategies (AWS or Azure).
- Strong expertise in enterprise architecture concepts, integration patterns, microservices, and infrastructure security.
- Demonstrated experience managing C-level stakeholders and translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on background in systems engineering, software development, or cloud architecture.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing SOWs, RFP responses, and technical architecture documentation.
Desirable
- Relevant Professional Certifications: TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or PRINCE2 / Agile credentials.
- Experience with enterprise software suites (Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP) or custom software implementation project lifecycle.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Systems, or Engineering.
- Background in technical pre-sales or management consulting.
