PCV Mechanic – Cymru Coaches Pontardawe Depot
Hours: 07:30–16:30, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are looking for two experienced and dedicated PCV Mechanics to join our team at our brand-new Pontardawe depot. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled engineers who take pride in high-quality workmanship, safe vehicle operation, and maintaining strong engineering standards.
You’ll be working on a mixed fleet, predominantly Volvo and Mercedes, carrying out scheduled maintenance, inspections, and MOT preparation to ensure our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and fully compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct 6-weekly vehicle inspections in line with regulatory and company standards
- Complete MOT preparations and ensure vehicles are presented to the highest standard
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance across a varied fleet
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Work collaboratively within the workshop team to help ensure an efficient, safe working environment
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a PCV Mechanic, PSV Technician, Bus Fitter, or similar role
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle/PCV Maintenance preferred
- Strong diagnostic abilities and attention to detail
- Understanding of DVSA standards and safe workshop practices
- Full UK driving licence (PCV licence advantageous but not essential)
