Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Handler to join our team and assist in maintaining safety and security through expert animal handling. This role involves working closely with trained service dogs to support various security operations. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal care, ready to contribute to a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the training, handling, and management of security dogs during patrols and operational duties
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas using trained dogs to detect threats or unauthorized access
- Ensure the well-being and safety of the animals by providing proper care, feeding, and grooming
- Support security operations by responding swiftly to incidents or alarms with the assistance of trained dogs
- Maintain detailed records of dog training activities, daily routines, and incident reports
- Collaborate with team members to optimize security procedures involving canine units
- Engage with clients professionally, providing excellent customer service while demonstrating the capabilities of the canine team
Skills
- Veterinary experience or strong animal care background to ensure proper handling and health maintenance of dogs
- Proven experience working with animals, particularly in a security or training environment
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or animal care supplies
- Active communication skills for effective teamwork and incident reporting
- Knowledge of basic security protocols and emergency response procedures related to canine units
