Essential:
- Registered Nurse - NMC
- Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300).
- Minimum three years' post-registration experience.
- Significant experience assessing and managing ADHD in adults and/or children.
- Experience initiating and titrating ADHD medication.
- Excellent understanding of NICE ADHD Guidelines.
- Knowledge of controlled drug prescribing regulations.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive remote ADHD medication clinics for children, young people and adults following diagnosis, delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
- Initiate, prescribe, titrate and review ADHD medications in accordance with NICE guidelines, national prescribing standards and organisational policies.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, physical health observations, side effects and medication adherence, adjusting treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Develop personalised care and medication management plans, providing clear psychoeducation and advice to patients, parents, carers and families regarding ADHD, treatment options and ongoing support.
- Identify, assess and appropriately manage clinical risk, safeguarding concerns and any deterioration in mental or physical health, escalating complex cases to the Consultant Psychiatrist or relevant statutory services where required.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care, participating in clinical discussions and contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records, prepare GP correspondence and Shared Care documentation, and ensure all prescribing and documentation complies with NMC standards, controlled drug legislation, information governance requirements and best clinical practice
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, prescriptions, and follow-up notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families about ADHD, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Ensure medication safety by adhering to protocols for medication administration and storage.
