The opportunity
We’re looking for a social-first Video Content Creator who understands what makes people stop scrolling, keep watching, share content and ultimately take action.
This role is primarily about TikTok, Instagram Reels and short-form social content — not traditional videography.
We want someone who understands hooks, curiosity gaps, pattern interrupts, retention, pacing, storytelling and the psychology behind why some content performs and other content doesn’t.
You’ll create content for both organic social and paid advertising, working across food, hospitality, nightlife, events and new consumer brands.
You should be comfortable filming and editing your own content, whether that means grabbing an iPhone and capturing something completely native or using professional equipment when higher production quality is needed.
Strong videography is valuable, but social instinct comes first.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll create a high volume of short-form content for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts, as well as creative for paid Meta and TikTok campaigns.
Your work will include:
- Developing concepts and ideas for short-form social content
- Creating strong hooks within the first 1–3 seconds
- Using curiosity gaps and pattern interrupts to capture attention
- Filming and editing TikToks and Instagram Reels
- Creating organic and paid versions of successful concepts
- Producing UGC and creator-style content
- Creating food, customer reaction, POV and behind-the-scenes content
- Producing multiple hooks and creative variations for testing
- Creating paid-social ads designed to generate bookings, enquiries and sales
- Testing different creative angles, formats, openings and CTAs
- Static ads, carousels, GIFs/Motion, thumbnails, social graphics, cut downs,
- Reviewing performance and using the results to improve future content
- Producing YouTube Shorts
- Using AI to increase the speed, quality and volume of creative production
You’ll work alongside our media buyer paid and use their performance data to understand what is working.
Our content is currently being produced by an in-house creator, whose role is expanding into other areas of the business but will be available to work collaboratively.
You understand performance, not just content
We’re particularly interested in creators who understand the numbers behind their work.
You should be comfortable discussing things such as:
Watch time, retention, hook rate, shares, saves, engagement, CTR and conversion performance. Multiple aspect ratios and A/B-test variations.
We don’t expect every video to go viral.
We do expect you to want to understand why one video performed better than another and use that information when creating the next one.
AI and creative technology
AI should already be part of, or becoming part of, how you work.
You might use AI for ideation, hooks, scripting, storyboarding, research, captions, voiceovers, editing, image or video generation, repurposing and creating multiple variations of an idea.
Experience with tools such as Runway, Descript, ElevenLabs, Adobe AI tools or similar platforms would be useful, but we’re more interested in how you use AI than which specific tools you know.
Filming and editing
You need to be able to film and edit your own content to a high standard.
You should be comfortable shooting on smartphones and ideally professional camera equipment.
Strong lighting, camera and cinematic skills are an advantage, particularly for food, drink and hospitality content, but this is not a traditional videography position.
If you can produce beautiful cinematic footage, great.
But you also need to understand why a raw 12-second iPhone video might outperform it.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A strong portfolio of TikTok and Instagram content
- A genuine understanding of short-form social
- Strong hooks and storytelling
- Knowledge of curiosity gaps and pattern interrupts
- Excellent short-form editing
- Experience creating organic social content
- Experience creating paid-social creative
- An understanding of retention and social analytics
- Strong creative ideation
- Confidence filming their own content
- Experience using AI within their creative workflow
- A commercial mindset
We’d particularly like to meet candidates who actively create and experiment on their own social accounts, although having a large personal following is not a requirement.
This probably isn’t the role for you if...
Your background is primarily traditional videography, corporate video, weddings, events or long-form production and you don’t have a strong portfolio of social-native TikTok/Reels content.
We’re not hiring someone primarily because they can operate a camera.
We’re hiring someone because they understand social — who also knows how to create great video.
Salary
The salary is £35,000–£45,000+ Bonus, depending on portfolio, experience and capability.
40-45 hours a week (Negotiable)
The upper end of the range is for someone who can demonstrate the complete combination of social-native creative instincts, organic performance, paid creative, excellent editing, strong filming skills, AI fluency (Or on the path) and measurable results.
Years of experience alone won’t determine salary.
How to apply
Please include links to TikTok, Instagram Reels or other short-form content you have personally created, including personal accounts if relevent.
We’d particularly like to see:
- Your strongest-performing organic content
- Paid-social creative you’ve produced
- Examples of different hooks and formats
- Content you personally filmed and edited
- Your own social accounts, if you actively create content
