Practice Supervisor – Orthodontic Dental Practice - One Smile Dental Pontefract
We are looking for a motivated and organised Practice Supervisor to support the smooth day-to-day running of our dental practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dental nurse or head nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership and management skills.
You will work closely with the Practice Owner and Operations Managers, focusing on team leadership, nurturing staff, compliance, patient experience and operational efficiency, while most financial responsibilities will remain with the management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the dental nursing and reception teams, fostering a positive, collaborative workplace.
- Lead on recruitment, onboarding, training and staff rotas.
- Support team development through appraisals and performance reviews.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth patient flow and an excellent patient experience.
- Maintain up-to-date practice policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure the practice meets regulatory standards (e.g. CQC) and health and safety requirements.
- Manage stock control and liaise with suppliers to ensure efficient operations.
- Support patient communications and handle escalated queries professionally.
- Contribute to practice meetings, service improvements and staff wellbeing initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a dental nurse or head dental nurse, with a good understanding of practice operations.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Confident communicator with patients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of dental compliance and regulatory standards.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is desirable but not essential as training and support will be provided.

Pay: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
