Border Aggregates are looking to recruit a Yard Supervisor to join their busy depot based in Overby. 39 hours per week with overtime at time and a half.
Role & Responsibilities of the Yard Supervisor
- Responsibility for the day to day running of the yard
- Managing a team of 3-yard staff
- Organizing holiday rotas for yard staff ensuring there is adequate cover to deal the workloads.
- Recruitment and training of any new members to the yard team.
- Responsible for all goods in and out of Depot
- Stock maintenance and control
- A strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Promote “good-housekeeping” and safe working practices to the team, ensuring all comply with company policies and Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure Quality procedures are followed
- Responsible for yard security
- Regular reviews of site activity and service levels, taking the necessary action to maintain and continuously improve standards
Requirements of the Yard Supervisor
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong people management skills
- Full Driving Licence
- Forklift & Loading Shovel Licence – Training can be given if necessary
- Experience of operating and efficient and effective yard
- Knowledge of products/industry would be an advantage but not a necessity
