About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and dedicated Office Administrator & Rehoming Advisor to join our busy animal rehoming centre. This is a varied role that combines office administration, customer service, and, following training, assisting with the matching of dogs to suitable adopters. This position is based within a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the office.
Main Responsibilities
- Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Providing excellent customer service to members of the public, adopters, and supporters.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating databases.
- Updating and maintaining the organisation's website, including dog profiles and adoption information.
- Managing general office administration duties and correspondence.
- Scheduling appointments and handling enquiries.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the rehoming centre.
- Following training, assisting with the assessment and matching of dogs to suitable potential adopters.
- Supporting the rehoming process from initial enquiry through to adoption.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous administrative or office experience.
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
- Excellent knowledge of dogs and cats or previous experience within an animal welfare environment is essential. To include, breed specific traits and basic dog training skills. Full training for this specific role will be given.
