We are currently advertising for a Senior Practitioner to join our nursery which was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in January 2025.
Job Role
The position is to support our Room Leader as a Senior Practitioner and to lead the room during the Room Leader's absence. The post also encompasses a Supporting DSL position, alongside all our other Room Leaders and Deputy Manager who are also Supporting DSL's.
Shifts and Opening Hours
This is a 'Full Year' position, for 30 hours per week over 4 days. The job role is Monday - Friday, with varying shift patterns between 8:00am - 5:00pm. The nursery closes for 2 weeks at Christmas, on Bank Holidays and weekends.
About Us
We have 3 separate rooms; Baby Room, Toddler Room, and a Pre School that joins two cohorts of children together.
We are also fortunate to have extensive grounds on site to explore, including a shaded wood garden area where our 2 peking ducks live. We have developed partnerships with Penzance Library, Penlee House, Gallery & Museum and The Edge of The World Bookshop to enable regular visits and workshops. We also take regular trips to Penlee Park, Morrab Gardens and Penzance Promenade. Our Pre Schoolers are fortunate to go even further afield to Mousehole , Marazion and St Ives via bus and train.
About You
- Applicants must hold a full and relevant Level 2 or above, Early Years qualification (Essential).
- Applicant needs a minimum of 1 years experience in an early years setting.
- We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and passionate practitioner, who is able to extend and enhance children's play and learning.
- Are you approachable, friendly and able to communicate effectively at all times, with your staff team as well as with children and their families?
- Do you hold an in depth knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety?
- Are you willing to immerse yourself in the creative and imaginative world of caring for children?
