Due to expediential growth in our business, we have an exciting opportunity and are recruiting for a Sports Ground Attendant who has a can-do attitude who will join an existing team based in Portsmouth.
Job Purpose
As a Sports Ground Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining a multitude of different grass and synthetic sports pitches as well as athletics and tennis courts at many of our sites in and around the Aldershot area. Providing a top-class horticultural environment for our clients, and ensuring that the requirements of the client and the specification are fully met for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of the sites, employees and visitors.
Skills and experiences:
- Ability to work as part of a team or on their own
- Good general knowledge with sports maintenance of winter grass pitches and synthetic surfaces
- Knowledge of sports pitch renovations
- Full driving licence is essential
- Passionate about the environment with a keen eye for detail.
- NVQ or Diploma Level 2 Horticulture / Landscaping (or equivalent)
- Spraying Certificates – NPTC PA1 & PA6
- Experience in Landscaping / Grounds Maintenance
- Experience with using petrol two stroke grass/hedge cutting equipment is preferable, but not essential
- Experience with ride on grass cutting equipment and tractor driving preferable but not essential
- Flexible in approach to work and willing to work outside in all weathers
- Due to location on the Military Barracks, security clearance will be required
