Job Summary
At The Lakes Care Centre, following a review of our Leadership Team, we’re now looking for dynamic, experienced and motivated Senior Care Workers / ambitious ‘Managers in the Making’ to join our team and help us maintain improve upon our current standards of care and leadership.
As a Unit Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of your designated care unit, ensuring that residents’ daily needs are met as a matter of routine. This will be ‘Your Unit’ and as such, you’ll lead and support your team to deliver outstanding care and compassion, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and ensure a positive, supportive working environment.
Duties
- Overseeing care delivery to ensure high standards are maintained
- Managing staff rotas and delegation of duties effectively
- Conducting Fact Finding / Disciplinary Meetings
- Ensuring adherence to CQC regulations and company policies
- Delivery on the spot and planned training and development of your care staff team
- Creating excellent relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Promoting excellent person centred care, at all times, whilst maintaining resident’s independence, dignity, and choice
- Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and resident dignity within the care home
- Coordinate daily activities and oversee medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including documentation and reporting requirements
- Utilize IT systems to update resident records, track care activities, and manage schedules effectively
About You - your skills
We’re looking for someone who understands what good care 'looks and feels' like, with strong leadership skills, excellent ways of getting the message across to your team, and a genuine passion for great elderly care.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 4/5 or willingness to work towards it
- Previous experience as a Senior Carer or Team Leader in a care home
- Proven experience in a supervisory or senior care role
- Excellent communication and IT (verbal, written and digitally) and good leadership skills
- Knowledge of CQC standards and best practice guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, staff, and external professionals
- Knowledge of developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Proficiency in IT systems used for documentation and communication within healthcare environments
- Ability to supervise multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail
