Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our small family run pub business at White Hart located in Iron Acton village outskirts of Yate. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, running a shift by themselves or working together as a small team while ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for food as our menu serves British classics and Eastern European dishes. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining our reputation for outstanding cuisine and exceptional service.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards of British classics and Eastern European dishes
- work well on your own or with a small team
- To ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control procedures
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a restaurant or hospitality setting preferably with Eastern European cuisine knowledge
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles
