We are looking for an experienced, reliable and compassionate Senior Carer to join our team at Evergreen Residential Care Home.
As a Senior Carer, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting and leading the care team while ensuring our residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
This is a hands-on Senior Care role. We are looking for someone who is confident leading and supporting other care staff but who is equally willing to work alongside the team and provide direct care to residents.

Bonus payments are subject to the eligibility requirements and terms of the Bonus Scheme.
Shifts
- Flexible shifts – to be discussed
- Alternate weekend working required
- Applicants must be able to work flexibly according to the needs of the home
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Previous experience working at Senior Carer/Senior Care Assistant level
- Experience within a residential care home or similar care setting
- Experience and confidence in medication administration
- Good understanding of medication procedures and safe practice
- Experience of care plans and risk assessments
- Ability to confidently lead and support care staff during a shift
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to use initiative and make appropriate decisions
- A compassionate, resident-focused approach
- Willingness to undertake hands-on personal care as an integral part of the Senior Carer role
- Basic IT/computer skills and ability to use electronic care systems
Experience of supporting people living with dementia is desirable..
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the care team during your shift
- Ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care
- Administering medication safely and accurately in accordance with procedures
- Monitoring residents and escalating any concerns appropriately
- Supporting the development, implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments
- Maintaining accurate care and medication records
- Supporting residents living with dementia and other age-related needs
- Promoting residents' dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing
- Providing hands-on personal care and support with daily living activities
- Supporting and guiding Care Assistants throughout the shift
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Reporting concerns, incidents or changes in residents' needs appropriately
- Supporting the Management Team in maintaining high standards throughout the home
