We are looking for a reliable and punctual Early Morning Delivery Driver to join our team and carry out our daily bread deliveries.
This is a small, regular-hours position involving collecting our company van each morning, travelling to the bakery to collect freshly baked bread and other products, and delivering them to our local shops and wholesale customers.
The role starts at approximately 6:00am when the company van is collected.
The Role
Your typical morning will involve:
- Collecting the company delivery van at approximately 6:00am
- Driving the van to our bakery
- Collecting and loading the bread and other bakery products required for that day's deliveries
- Delivering the orders to approximately 3–4 local locations
- Ensuring all deliveries are made accurately and on time
- Handling bread and bakery products carefully during loading and transportation
- Returning the company van to its designated location once the delivery round is complete
Hours
The position is for approximately 8.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
During quieter periods, when fewer deliveries are required, the hours may reduce to approximately 7.5 hours per week.
Shifts start at approximately 6:00am, when the company van is collected. Applicants must therefore be able to reliably get to the van collection point for the early-morning start.
- No weekend working
- No Bank Holiday working
- We close over the Christmas period, so no deliveries are required during our Christmas shutdown
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Extremely reliable and punctual
- Comfortable with early-morning starts
- Happy working independently
- Organised and able to follow a regular delivery route
- Physically able to load and unload bread and bakery products
- Careful and responsible when driving a company vehicle
- Friendly and professional when dealing with our bakery, shop teams and customers
Requirements
- A full UK driving licence
- Able to reliably get to the van collection point for approximately 6:00am
- Comfortable driving a company van
- Able to work the required early-morning shifts consistently
Previous delivery driving experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
This position would suit someone looking for a small number of regular early-morning hours, with the benefit of finishing work early in the day.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
