A key commitment within the strategy is for UCL to reduce campus energy demand by 20% by 2030. This role will work with the Sustainability team to identify and deliver reductions in energy use.

As Engineering Energy Reduction Manager you will lead the development and delivery of strategic and operational initiatives to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and utility costs across UCL’s estate. You will be responsible for enabling a 20% energy reduction across UCL’s activities by 2030 by:
- Proactively identifying opportunities throughout the UCL’s building portfolio to reduce energy demand through changes to engineering systems.
- Leading on the delivery of energy efficiency projects.
- Providing technical support and advice to ensure capital works are delivered to the highest levels of energy efficiency.

Things you'll need for this job include:
- A degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Building Services, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Professional membership of an appropriate institution - CIBSE, IEMA, IMechE, IET etc.
- Proven experience in energy management, delivering energy reduction projects in a complex estate
- Experience delivering energy audits that evaluate the performance of building fabric, building service plant and controls
- Knowledge of Building Energy Management Systems and their use to reduce energy consumption through digital led/condition-based maintenance methodologies
- Experience managing and liaising with maintenance contractors to deliver energy savings
