Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to various destinations while ensuring a high standard of customer service. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while on the road.
Duties
- Safely operate a bus or van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.
- Maintain a clean and well-organised vehicle, conducting regular inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any delays.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, especially those with mobility challenges.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to optimise routes and ensure timely deliveries.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a valid bus or van driver’s licence.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle unexpected situations calmly.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring passenger satisfaction.
