.Structural Steel Erector / Site Fitter
Location: Lawford, Essex (working on sites across Essex, Suffolk, London and surrounding areas)
Job Summary
Stour Engineering LLP is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Erector / Site Fitter to join our growing team.
The role involves installing structural steelwork and architectural metalwork on a variety of commercial and residential projects. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works safely, and is happy working as part of a small, professional team.
Responsibilities
- Install structural steelwork including beams, columns, bracing and secondary steelwork.
- Fit staircases, balustrades, handrails and other architectural metalwork.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and site drawings.
- Carry out site drilling, bolting and occasional site welding where required.
- Use Genie lifts, MEWPs and other lifting equipment safely.
- Work alongside site managers and other trades to complete installations efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Keep work areas clean, organised and safe.
- Complete work within agreed programme times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Erector or Site Fitter.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- CSCS card (essential).
- IPAF, PASMA, CPCS Slinger/Signaller or Telehandler tickets would be an advantage but are not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work away occasionally if required.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
