Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, maintaining store organisation, and supporting sales through effective merchandising and upselling techniques. This role offers an engaging environment where organisational skills and communication abilities are essential to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive shopping experience for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain the organisation and presentation of merchandise on the shop floor, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked
- Operate cash registers accurately, handle transactions efficiently, and process payments using phone etiquette
- Support upselling initiatives to maximise sales opportunities
- Restock shelves and organise stockrooms to ensure inventory levels are maintained
- Assist in visual merchandising to enhance product visibility and appeal
- Provide information about products in multiple languages, including English and Spanish, to cater to diverse customer needs
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within scheduled shifts
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the store environment throughout the day
Skills
- Multilingual skills, particularly fluency in English and Spanish, are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers and team members
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent organisational skills to manage stock levels and store presentation efficiently
- Good time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to display products attractively
- Phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone or via other communication channels
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
