Food and Beverage Operations Manager
The Randolph Hotel, Oxford | £70,000 OTE per annum
Oxford's most famous hotel is looking for its next great host.
Since 1866, The Randolph has stood opposite the Ashmolean as the city's grand dame. Inspector Morse drank in our bar. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed in our suites. Today, The Alice serves modern British plates under hand painted murals, the Morse Bar is one of the most characterful rooms to drink in anywhere in Oxford, and Afternoon Tea remains an Oxford institution. We are looking for a Food and Beverage Operations Manager to take the whole thing by the scruff of the neck and make it even better.
Who we are
White Rabbit Hospitality operates a collection of characterful hotels and restaurants across the UK and Europe, including Rusacks St Andrews, Graduate Cambridge, Ember Locke Kensington, Locke Canary Wharf and Locke Lisbon. We are part of White Rabbit Projects, the group behind Lina Stores and Kricket. Our vision is simple and ambitious: to be the world's leading hospitality incubator.
Why this role is different
This is not a spreadsheet job with a name badge. You will run multiple outlets under one historic roof, each with its own personality, its own guest and its own commercial rhythm. Restaurant, bar, lounge, afternoon tea, room service, private dining and events. You will own the numbers, coach the team, host the room and shape what F&B at The Randolph becomes next. Few hospitality jobs in Oxford offer this much scope.
What we look for
Skills can be taught. Values cannot. Ours guide every decision we make, and we hire people who already live them.
Our Values
HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE. You read a room before you read a report. You know the difference between service and hospitality, and you teach that difference to every new starter.
WE DO THE RIGHT THING. You lead with honesty, you protect your team, and you hold the line on allergen compliance, licensing and safety even on the busiest Saturday of the year.
WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE. You sweat the polish on the glassware and the accuracy of the GP report with equal energy. Good enough has never been good enough for you.
WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS. You spot the revenue nobody else has noticed, pitch it, cost it and make it happen.
And above all, we work hard and be kind.
What you will be doing
- Leading the day to day operation of all food and beverage outlets at The Randolph, including The Alice, the Morse Bar, lounge, afternoon tea, room service and private dining
- Owning F&B revenue, GP, payroll and departmental profit, with full P&L accountability alongside the General Manager
- Recruiting, inducting, training and developing a large hourly and salaried team, building genuine succession from within
- Driving guest satisfaction and reputation scores, responding to feedback personally and turning insight into action
- Working with the Head Chef and Bars Manager on menu development, pricing, seasonality and specification
- Managing rotas, forecasting and labour productivity through Fourth, keeping the team well staffed and well rested
- Delivering flawless events, weddings and private dining in some of Oxford's most beautiful rooms
- Upholding food safety, allergen management, licensing and health and safety standards to audit ready condition at all times
- Being visible on the floor at peak, hosting guests, supporting the team and setting the standard
What you will bring
- Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager, F&B Operations Manager, Restaurant General Manager or Assistant Director of F&B in a quality hotel, restaurant group or premium multi outlet venue
- Strong commercial literacy across P&L, GP, labour cost and forecasting
- A track record of building, retaining and promoting brilliant teams
- Confidence across both restaurant and bar operations, with real product knowledge
- Calm, warm leadership under pressure and a genuine love of the floor
- Level 3 Food Safety and a Personal Licence, or the appetite to gain both quickly
- The right to work in the UK
What we offer
Aside from an OTE salary of £70,000 per annum plus bonus, we provide:
- A clear development path towards senior leadership within a fast growing group.
- Ongoing training, coaching and career progression across our brands and venues.
- A generous team discount across our restaurants and hotels.
- Enhanced benefits, wellbeing support and a genuine people first culture.
- The chance to work in one of Oxford's most iconic hotel, restaurant and bar destinations.
Where it goes next
We grow our own. Our General Managers, Operations Managers and Heads of Department overwhelmingly come from inside the business, and we back people who back themselves. Take this role, deliver it brilliantly, and the next step across the group is a conversation, not a gamble.
