Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper as LTD company or self employed to join our logistics team (This position is NOT PAYE). £190 Per day + £25 Night out rate. This role involves operating CLASS 1 on a permanent contract, primarily focusing on delivering goods all over the UK - Approx 1300 - 1500 miles per week. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience in commercial driving, and familiarity with delivery operations. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, specialising in curtain sider work, adhering to all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance standards are met
- Safely load and secure goods onto flatbeds, ensuring proper handling and stability during transit
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules across multiple locations
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and warehouse staff during deliveries
- Comply with tachograph regulations and working hours legislation
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly for maintenance
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles and roping and sheeting
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of current road safety laws and regulations governing commercial vehicles
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and securing cargo
- Strong organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work long-distance shifts, including overnight stays as required
