About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Estimator to join our growing team based in Chudleigh, Devon. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with approximately 4+ years' experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector who is looking to develop their career within a progressive and expanding contractor. Working closely with both our Pre-Construction and Construction teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of competitive tenders, cost planning, contract administration and the management of compensation events across a diverse range of civil engineering, highways, drainage and infrastructure projects throughout the South West.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Support tender pricing, bid strategy and risk assessment activities.
- Obtain, analyse and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare pricing schedules and tender submissions.
- Assist with post-tender clarifications and negotiations.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or Commercial Management etc.
- Around 4+ years' Experience as an Estimator within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Utilities, Highways, Marine and Groundworks.
- Experience preparing tenders and cost estimates within a construction environment.
- Good understanding of construction methods and project delivery.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Full UK Driving Licence.
