Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile Barista/Café all-rounder to run our soon to open coffee trailer at Alpaca Evolution. Set on a working farm with easy access from the A421, the site is surrounded by alpacas and has proven popular with the visiting public. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in an idyllic setting, delivering excellent customer service while preparing and serving a variety of food and beverages. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee and food, possess strong organisational skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting. All positions are paid commensurate to experience.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including specialised coffee drinks, teas, and cold drinks.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or baked goods
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter or table
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Must have level 2 food and hygiene qualification.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Keep the café clean and organised, including clearing tables and restocking supplies
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Support colleagues with general duties as required to ensure smooth operation of the café
Experience
- Previous barista experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is required.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is beneficial
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing transactions are necessary
- Familiarity with food preparation tasks enhances efficiency in the role
- Strong time management skills are essential to prioritise tasks during busy hours
