We are now recruiting a Production & Quality Assistant to join our busy factory.
This role supports end-to-end production and quality control within a flexible packaging environment. The position ensures consistent output across printing, lamination, and slitting by combining strong process knowledge with real-time quality monitoring. The candidate will manage colour consistency, material compliance, and production efficiency while collaborating closely with operations, maintenance, and planning teams. A strong focus on problem solving, documentation, and continuous improvement is essential. The role requires hands-on experience with flexographic printing, solventless lamination, and colour measurement tools. This is a shift-based position suited for a proactive team player committed to delivering reliable and high-quality packaging solutions.
· Monitor daily production across printing, lamination, and slitting.
· Ensure online quality testing during all production stages.
· Verify packaging material specifications and grade compliance and inwards goods.
· Monitor flexographic printing setup and process control.
· Monitor colour matching using spectrophotometer and visual checks.
· Maintain solventless lamination quality standards.
· Track production output, waste, and efficiency metrics and outcome for process improvement.
· Can guide for troubleshoot print, lamination, and slitting quality issues.
· Approve first-off and in-process samples.
· Monitor colour consistency across repeat jobs.
· Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality systems and other Food safety standards like BRCGS.
· Coordinate with planning and maintenance teams.
· Support shift handovers with proper reporting when needed.
· Monitor production and quality documentation.
· Train operators on quality and process controls via TBT and other tools.
· Monitor safety and housekeeping standards inside the premises.
· Participate in customer complaint investigations and RCA submission.
· Work effectively in cross-functional teams.
· Flexible to work night shifts with an occasional day shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
