Candidates should be aware that we will be running a mandatory in-person selection process involving several elements including a discussion task and individual interview. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated educational psychologist who is passionate about improving life chances for all, with a particular focus on those young people who are most vulnerable and at risk of poor outcomes.
As an educational psychologist in Fife, you will join a dynamic Educational Psychology Service that offers a comprehensive induction and supervision programme. There is a strong commitment to supporting the professional development of all staff and the service is currently involved in a wide range of research and development opportunities across the Education Directorate and with multi-agency partners.
A Fife-wide roll-out of the Neurodevelopmental Pathway, an innovative new approach to multi-agency assessment, intervention, staff training and parental support for young people who may have neurodevelopmental differences
FCEPS is a large service with a range of opportunities for distributed leadership and developing innovative professional practices. We have support systems for new entrants to the profession, several experienced supervisors on the BPS Register of Supervisors and staff familiar with the Qualification in Educational Psychology (QEP), British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) processes, enabling us to support psychologists to benefit from high-quality professional supervision.
We operate a blended approach to work within FCEPS which incorporates office working, fieldwork and home working as part of your working week. Our core team working day is a Tuesday where our staff are office based to ensure team time and internal networking opportunities are built into our work.

Honours degree in psychology, conferring basis for graduate membership of the BPS, and a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology
A high level of interpersonal, organisational and consultation skills and abilities which will enable you to demonstrate professional autonomy within a culture of collective responsibility to our service and our stakeholders
You are required to be fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or to be on track to complete your Qualification in Educational Psychology, which will ensure you are eligible to register with the HCPC; to model all behaviour expected of an educational psychologist in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
