Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, cost control, and financial administration of building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale developments while ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
the applicant will work between head office(Bridgend), Site and home. they will work closely with the Project Manager to assist in financially completing projects.
Electrical/Mechanical knowledge is essential, also working with NEC4 contracts.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
- Monitor project costs and expenditure throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets.
- Conduct regular cost control assessments, analysing variances and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients to negotiate prices and secure favourable terms.
- Prepare tender documentation and evaluate bids received from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
- Provide financial reports and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and health & safety standards related to financial management.
Skills
- Must have experience with NEC3+NEC4 contracts
- Must have Electrical/Mechanical knowledge
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in relevant software packages such as MS Excel, CostX, or other estimating tools.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial calculations and reporting.
Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
