Sheffield City Council's Transport Services are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and competent person to join our team in the role of Motor Vehicle Fitter.
The main purpose of the role is to inspect, service and repair Sheffield City Council's wide range of vehicles including LGV’s, minibuses and cars within our fully equipped specialist workshops and out on site.
You will be organised and flexible and be prepared to cover shifts and a breakdown recovery service on a rotational basis. You will also be committed to providing the highest standards of customer service, in return you will benefit from excellent terms and conditions of service.
Hours of work are 37 per week and you will take part in a rotating shift pattern covering the hours of 6.00am to 2.00pm and 10.00am to 6.00pm, any hours worked over this are paid in addition.
Candidates should be time served with a minimum of 3 years workshop experience and hold a full driving licence. Additionally, you should be fully qualified to City and Guilds level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
