Job Overview
I am seeking a reliable and energetic driver to transport my son to and from college safely and efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support students' educational journeys while ensuring punctuality and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for my son. I won't get his timetable until just before he starts College so a degree of flexibility would be preferable. My son is 17 and absolutely no bother in a taxi but he is very shy so may not feel comfortable talking until. he gets to know you. I live in Maidenhead and the college is in Farnborough. I would supply the car and insurance and you would need a clean current driving licence and an enhanced DBS check.
Duties
- Safely operate a vehicle designated for student transportation, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Pick up students from designated locations and drop them off at college campuses on schedule
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies before each shift
- Communicate clearly with students regarding pick-up times, routes, and safety procedures
- Assist with loading and unloading students, including heavy lifting of bags or equipment when needed
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on the vehicle to identify issues early and report any repairs needed
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and any incidents during transportation
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Enhanced DBS check which I will facilitate.
- Experience as a driver, especially with student preferred but not essential
- Experience with SEN student preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with my son and school staff
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in previous roles
- Ability to handle routine vehicle check to ensure car is roadworthy. No actual maintenance is needed as this will be covered.
