Job Summary
An exciting role, in a construction product’s testing facility unlike any other in the UK, for a Graduate Testing Technician. Reporting to the Head of Testing, this key role is responsible for the supervision and execution of testing within the organisation’s daily operations. In doing so will support the client(s) and customer(s) on site at Attain RTC. The right candidate will be an enthusiastic, degree educated (in a relevant field) individual who has the flexibility and adaptability to work towards a target in a variety of situations.
The suitable candidate will join the company with the clear pathway towards technical leadership and management responsibility.
General summary
Set up, including constructing if required, and execute testing functions on all scales within the business; fire, acoustics and/or physical, working with clients and customers.
Handling and conditioning samples in readiness for testing, ensuring samples are within specific tolerances prior to testing.
Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the management team.
Support improvement of processes and procedures around all aspects of testing services provided to our clients and customers.
Assist the management team with all aspects the Quality Management System required to maintain BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 certification, including but not limited to standard operating procedures.
Writing test reports and configuring test data which will then be published to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the preparation, installation and testing of products
Assisting with the preparation of test rigs, equipment and instrumentation prior to testing.
Carrying out instrumentation, recording test data and monitoring activities during tests.
Supporting technicians during live fire tests and ensuring testing activities are carried out safely and accurately.
Maintaining clear and accurate test records and documentation.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials and other technical information to understand test specimens and requirements.
Managing all aspects of the client/customer team on site at Attain RTC, ensuring a safe environment at all times.
Supporting the planning and scheduling of test installations and testing activities.
Liaising with customers, contractors and suppliers regarding test requirements, specimen preparation and installation.
Maintaining and developing knowledge of relevant fire testing standards and testing requirements.
Supporting the development and improvement of procedures, templates and working practices within the testing area.
Ensuring consistency in terms of report writing across all areas; fire, acoustics and physical; in preparation, reviewing and approving.
Support with calibration for all aspects of equipment, including any in-house maintenance requirements.
