As a Residential Support Worker you will play a key role in creating a stable, therapeutic environment and supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
What you’ll do
· Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of our young people.
· Build trusting relationships so children can have fun, learn, stay safe and thrive.
· Support daily routines on/off site; plan activities and communication strategies.
· Encourage independence: living skills (meals, laundry, shopping) and self-care.
· Meet health needs and keep clear, accurate records.
What you’ll bring
· A resilient, can-do approach; positive team player who can also use their initiative.
· Good organisation and time-keeping; able to prioritise a busy shift and meet deadlines.
· Strong people skills and clear written reporting (basic IT confident).
· Flexibility to work some weekends/bank holidays and undertake sleep-ins and/or night shifts.
· A desire to learn (we provide full training); experience with vulnerable young people is desirable, not essential.
· Within commuting distance of South Birmingham.
Training & support
· Paid induction (Safeguarding, Health & Safety, First Aid and more).
· Shadow shifts, regular supervisions, appraisals and mentoring.
· Ongoing CPD and refreshers; in-house support to achieve Level 3.
