Part Time CHIEF ENGINEER for TUG
less than 500GT and 3000kW
A vacancy has become available for a part time position working for Fowey Harbour Commissioners as a Chief Engineer. Working on either of their tugs – CANNIS or MORGAWR; these are Voith Tractor Tugs constructed in the early 1980s and have a Lloyds Register Classification of 100A1 Tug: Near Continental Trading Area.
The position is a part time role acting as the Chief Engineer when the tug is required for operational work. You will be part of the tug engineer rota primarily working out of hours, including weekends and bank holidays as required. The tugs’ primary port of operation is Fowey with regular away work in Plymouth and Falmouth.
The successful candidate will need a minimum qualification as a Chief Engineer - less than 500GT and 3000kW; have appropriate STCW certification and be medically fit with an ENG1 medical certificate.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, have good communication skills and able to work in a team environment.
