Overview
Our Client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter & Decorator to join their team on a temp basis to start with but there is huge potential for this to lead to a permanent position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces through high-quality painting and decorating work. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. A valid driving licence is essential for this role. Immediate Start. This role is for a student accommodation project just outside Preston town centre.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Select appropriate materials and colours based on client preferences and project requirements.
- Communicate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on design choices.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard within agreed timelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople as necessary to ensure project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience in painting and decorating is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- A valid driving licence is required for travel between job sites.
- Attention to detail with a keen eye for colour matching and design aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials when necessary.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
