We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Conductor to join our multidisciplinary team at CPotential and deliver high-quality Conductive Education (CE) and therapeutic interventions to children and young people with movement disorders and complex needs.
In this role, you will provide advanced Conductive Education and holistic care to children, adolescents and their families, managing a varied caseload that includes assessments, specialist interventions and individually tailored programmes to meet each child’s needs. You’ll work collaboratively across education, health and social care settings, contributing to the development of services and supporting fundraising and promotional activities. As an active member of our multidisciplinary team (MDT), you’ll play a key role in ensuring that every programme of care is centred around the needs and goals of each child.
You’ll hold a degree in Conductive Education, with experience in planning, delivering and evaluating CE programmes for children with a range of abilities. You’ll have excellent communication skills, a flexible and solution-focused approach, and a genuine commitment to empowering children and their families.
Experience of working within an MDT setting and in UK conductive education environments is desirable, as is a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.

Job Summary
· To provide a high standard of advanced Conductive Education (CE) and high quality of care to children of all ages, including adolescents and their families, across the charity to include assessment and specialist therapeutic interventions
· To manage a caseload of children and their families with varied and sometimes complex needs undertaking appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation through programmes of therapy and support to meet identified needs
· To work in a variety of settings most appropriate to the child’s needs
· To communicate effectively with a range of people to include users of services and their families, education setting, local authority, NHS services as well as independent and voluntary sector partners
· To actively participate in the multidisciplinary team (MDT) assessment and options around the child centred model of care
· To assist with service developments, audits, fundraising and service promotion
· To supervise and delegate responsibilities to junior staff, students and therapy assistants
· To make recommendations for innovations and service-wide changes in practice and be responsible for the implementation of such change.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
· To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including professional and legal accountability and managing clinical risk for all aspects of own work. Some aspects of work will involve the delivery of care as an individual practitioner or as part of the multidisciplinary team
· To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and delivery of Conductive Education, covering all aspects of development as per current best practice and in accordance with CPotential’s specific policies
· To undertake advanced assessment of children with neurological or other disabling conditions that affect gross motor and fine motor skills as well as children presenting with developmental delay. These children may also have complex health needs, psychological, cognitive and behavioural problems, which will need to be considered when designing their CE/therapy programme
· To formulate and deliver an individualised or group treatment programme, including improving participation in different position, mat activities, advanced obstacle courses and facilitating movement. You will also work with group of children together to facilitate social interaction and bonding between peers, facilitating positive learning experience for children and parents/ carers
· To contribute to recording and reporting on children’s achievements and progress
· To assess client/carers understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid formal consent and jointly agreed goals
· To have the capacity to work within a legal framework with clients who lack capacity to consent to treatment
· To work in partnership with parent/carers to enable and empower families of disabled children, to function effectively, and signpost to other services through MDT
· To represent the service by attending children's multi-agency meetings e.g., Team around the child reviews, educational review, child concern/child protection meetings
· To provide effective external communication, attend and contribute to meetings and discussions relating to children’s progress and development and the work of CPotential
· To ensure joint working within the MDT including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and music therapy
· To assist with the organising and running of intensive/ block sessions and events
· To assist in delivering Outreach services, as and when appropriate. This may include providing support for children in mainstream nurseries or schools and developing contact with SEN groups.
Professional
· To assume delegated tasks as requested by the Senior Conductor, including leading on service initiatives, policy development etc.
· To actively participate and engage in professional and personal development including in-service training, Clinical supervision, journal club and peer support maintaining professional standards and ensuring best practice
· To attend relevant training and development to maintain and develop skills and knowledge, (e.g., relevant courses, meetings, special interest groups and reading)
· To keep up to date with clinical and educational developments using clinical databases, electronic technology e.g., Cliniko
· To maintain up-to-date, comprehensive and accurate case notes in a timely manner, further support and training will be provided
· To adhere to codes of professional conduct and perform in line with Charity policy
· To undertake, as directed, collection of data for use in service audit and make recommendations to clinical lead/line manager changes to practice by the team
· To ensure compliance with National and Local guidelines, policies, procedures, local risk assessments and service processes
· To be responsible for own professional actions and recognise own professional boundaries through interpretation of clinical/professional policies relevant to the local team and/or identified area of expertise
· Adhere to Charity guidelines regarding client consent and confidentiality of information about clients, staff and health service business in accordance with the Data Protection Act
· To work as an effective and responsible team member, arriving promptly, working flexibly but effectively during agreed hours
· To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload to meet service and client priorities. Readjusting plans as situations change/arise and delegating duties to junior staff or technical instructors
· To represent CE service, and/or individual client to ensure the delivery of a coordinated multidisciplinary service presenting a positive impression of the MDT team and the CE Service
· To share expertise and knowledge gained with other members of the team.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
· Degree in Conductive Education
· Experience of working with children
· Experience of planning, implementing and delivering CE programmes both as an individual and within a team
· Experience of planning and teaching/ training carer to children with a range of abilities
· Experience in setting functional and specific targets, as well as in use of an outcome measure
· Practical experience of teaching/ training children with various communication difficulties
· Experience of working closely with, establishing good relationships and educating parent/carers and families.
Desirable
- CPD evidence of paediatric experience
- Specialist paediatric training
- PCA Registered
