To provide a high quality of care and support for people with mental illness and/or behaviours that may challenge; to maximise the recovery and skills potential of each individual living in their own homes/support services within the community for whom Talbot care supported living provides a service; to achieve the highest possible standards of care and support in a professional manner.
1. Provide leadership and support for support staff and act as a champion for service user’ safety and dignity
2. To adhere to and act in accordance with the principles and values enshrined in the company’s mission statement, philosophy of care and statement of purpose.
3. Routinely oversees and monitors care and support staff
4. Takes responsibility for the shift and for the service while on duty;
5. Responding to emergencies and provides guidance and support to support workers;
6. Assisting and enabling service users with activities of daily living
7. Assist in serving meals to service users at table or in bed, assists with feeding if required;
8. liaises with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.
9. Liaise with GPs and other health professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require.
10. To participate and assist with management functions such as staff supervision, training, rota management, on call duty etc
11. Provide support, advocacy and information to the individuals we support.
12. Provide emotional and practical support to service users.
13. Support service users to meet their personal care needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene, assistance with laundry, financial planning, and preparing meals and drinks.
14. Supporting service users to take any prescribed medicine, complying with all medicine policies, including storage, administering and record keeping.
15. Enable service users to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life by providing appropriate information, opportunity, training, counselling and support.
16. Encourage, prompt and motivate service users to identify and choose their support needs.
17. Developing, implementing and reviewing service users care plans by consulting with service users and their relevant representatives.
