Experienced Automotive Service Advisor
Hedaux Motor Company Ltd | Full Time | Helpringham, Sleaford
Join a Garage That Values Expertise, Honesty and Exceptional Customer Service
Hedaux Motor Company Ltd is a long-established, independent, family-run garage with an excellent reputation for honest advice, high-quality workmanship and outstanding customer care.
We're looking for an experienced Automotive Service Advisor to become an integral part of our friendly team.
This is not an entry-level customer service role. We're looking for someone who already understands the demands of a busy automotive workshop and enjoys helping customers understand their vehicles.
At Hedaux, we don't believe a Service Advisor simply books cars into the diary. You'll be expected to understand the services we provide, explain their value with confidence, manage customer expectations and build trust by offering honest, professional advice.
If you enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies and delivering outstanding customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every customer receives the highest level of service from the moment they contact us until they collect their vehicle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers in person, over the telephone and via email with a friendly and professional approach.
- Listening carefully to customers' concerns and gathering accurate information about vehicle faults or servicing requirements.
- Advising customers on the most appropriate servicing, maintenance and repair options, explaining the differences between service levels, manufacturer recommendations and preventative maintenance.
- Explaining the purpose and value of our diagnostic process, ensuring customers understand that modern diagnostics involve far more than simply plugging in a diagnostic machine. You'll confidently explain how our technicians use fault code analysis, live data, road testing, manufacturer technical information and structured testing to accurately identify faults.
- Managing customer expectations by discussing diagnostic processes, likely outcomes, estimated timescales and obtaining authorisation before additional work is carried out.
- Preparing accurate estimates, quotations and invoices while maintaining complete transparency throughout every stage of the repair.
- Keeping customers regularly updated throughout the repair process, explaining technical information clearly and professionally.
- Working closely with our technicians to ensure information flows accurately between the workshop and customers.
- Researching and identifying the correct vehicle parts using electronic parts catalogues, manufacturer systems and technical information.
- Updating Digital Service Records across multiple manufacturer platforms accurately and efficiently.
- Processing warranty claims through various online warranty provider portals and ensuring all required documentation is completed correctly.
- Using GarageHive and other digital systems to manage bookings, job cards, invoices and customer records.
- Safely moving customer vehicles when required.
