We are seeking an Electrical Shift Technician to join our engineering team within a critical facilities environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to support the reliability, performance and operational effectiveness of electrical and mechanical systems.
Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled engineer with experience in planned and reactive maintenance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining engineering standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, and delivering an excellent service to the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules.
- Respond to electrical and mechanical reactive maintenance tasks, including fault finding and repairs.
- Manage and complete helpdesk requests within agreed timescales.
- Conduct technical surveys and provide detailed reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate client requests and manage specialist subcontractors.
- Complete minor installation works, including maintenance and repairs to lighting and distribution systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards at all times.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Experience within a building maintenance or facilities management environment.
- Proven experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems.
- A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Experience working within a critical environment would be advantageous.
- HV/LV experience would be beneficial.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds Part 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent (desirable).
- PASMA and/or IPAF certification.
- ACOP L8 training (desirable).
