Health and Social Care Tutor (OCR Cambridge Technicals Level 2 & Level 3)
Location: Bosco College, 281 Jamaica Road, London SE16 4RS
Responsible to: Director of Teaching and Information
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (to be agreed)
Job Purpose
To deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across OCR Cambridge Technical Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care programmes, enabling learners to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships or Higher Education.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to OCR specifications.
- Prepare schemes of work and learning resources.
- Differentiate teaching for learners with SEND and EHCPs.
- Assess internally assessed units and prepare learners for external examinations.
- Maintain accurate assessment and tracking records.
- Participate in internal verification, standardisation and quality assurance.
- Act as a Personal Tutor and monitor learner progress.
- Build links with employers and support work experience.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and equality.
- Attend meetings, CPD and College events.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Degree or Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related discipline.
- Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
- GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
- Experience teaching or assessing vocational qualifications.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering OCR Cambridge Technicals.
- TAQA/A1 Assessor qualification.
- IQA qualification.
- Experience working with SEND learners.
Knowledge and Skills
- Health and social care legislation and professional practice.
- OCR Cambridge Technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management.
- Strong assessment and digital skills.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and continuous improvement.

Pay: £29,700.00-£34,000.00 per year
