Job Purpose
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing and producing creative visual content for the company's digital and print communication channels. The role will involve creating designs that support the company's branding, marketing and communication objectives while maintaining consistency with established brand guidelines.
The successful candidate will work closely with management, marketing and other departments to understand design requirements, develop creative concepts and deliver high-quality visual materials within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts and visual designs for the company's branding, marketing and promotional activities.
- Create graphics and visual content for websites, social media platforms, digital advertisements, email campaigns, presentations, brochures, flyers, posters and other marketing materials.
- Design and maintain consistent visual identities across digital and printed materials in accordance with the company's brand guidelines.
- Develop website layouts, digital graphics and user-interface elements to support the company's online presence and improve user experience.
- Use design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to create and edit professional-quality graphics.
- Use Figma, Sketch or similar design tools to develop digital layouts, prototypes and interface designs where required.
- Create and edit photographs, illustrations, icons and other visual assets for use across different communication channels.
- Produce basic animations, motion graphics and video content using appropriate software, including Adobe After Effects and video-editing applications.
- Prepare artwork and digital files in appropriate formats and specifications for web, social media, email and print production.
- Work with marketing and management teams to understand project requirements, target audiences and intended outcomes.
- Interpret design briefs and translate business and marketing requirements into effective visual solutions.
- Make amendments to designs based on feedback from management, clients or other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all design work is accurate, consistent and completed within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain organised records of design files, templates, images and other digital assets.
- Upload and manage approved visual content through content management systems such as WordPress where required.
- Apply an understanding of HTML and CSS to ensure that digital designs and visual assets are suitable for web implementation. Basic knowledge of JavaScript may be required where relevant to the role.
- Liaise with external printers, suppliers, photographers or other creative service providers when required.
- Select appropriate stock photography, imagery, fonts, illustrations and other creative resources while ensuring that relevant licensing and usage requirements are observed.
- Assist with photography, photoshoots and image preparation where required.
- Monitor developments in graphic design, digital media and industry practices and identify opportunities to improve the company's visual communications.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and prioritise work according to business requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure that all work complies with applicable company policies, brand requirements and relevant legal and professional standards, including copyright and intellectual property requirements.
Skills and Technical Competence
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong graphic design and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Experience with digital design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and/or other motion graphics software.
- Experience with video editing and multimedia content creation.
- Knowledge of web design principles and an understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems.
- Good knowledge of typography, layout, colour, composition and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to prepare artwork for both digital and print applications.
- Good image-editing and photo-retouching skills.
- Ability to understand marketing objectives and translate them into effective visual content.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous professional experience in graphic design, digital design, visual communication, branding or a related field.
- A degree, diploma or relevant professional qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design or a related discipline is desirable but not essential where the candidate can demonstrate appropriate professional experience and skills.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant graphic design work across digital and print media.
- Previous experience working with marketing teams, businesses or creative departments is desirable.
- Experience of working to design briefs and meeting deadlines is desirable.

Working Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will be expected to work collaboratively with relevant teams while also managing their own workload and assigned projects. The role requires the ability to work within agreed deadlines, respond to changing business requirements and maintain professional standards across all design outputs.
The employee will be required to protect confidential company information and comply with the company's policies and procedures relating to data protection, confidentiality, intellectual property, health and safety, equality and other applicable workplace requirements.
Performance Expectations
Performance will be assessed based on the quality and accuracy of design work, ability to meet agreed deadlines, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, adherence to brand guidelines and the successful delivery of design projects in accordance with business requirements.
