At Care2Rise, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued and hopeful about their future. Tigerlily House is our brand-new therapeutic children's home supporting up to two children and young people aged 7–17, and we are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our founding leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, standards and success of a new home from the very beginning. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help establish a nurturing, therapeutic and child-centred environment where children and young people can feel safe, build positive relationships and achieve their full potential.
As Deputy Manager, you will provide operational leadership, support staff development, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the delivery of outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the effective leadership and management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation and leadership of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the staff team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
- Provide management cover in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Promote a positive therapeutic culture that reflects the home's values and ethos.
- Ensure children and young people receive safe, nurturing and individualised care.
- Build positive, trusting and therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
- Support children and young people to develop independence, resilience, confidence and life skills.
- Promote positive behaviour through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Oversee and review care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans and placement plans.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of daily recordings, incident reports and safeguarding documentation.
- Ensure safeguarding practices are robust and that all concerns are appropriately managed and reported.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management of staff.
- Contribute to staff training, development and reflective practice.
- Monitor staffing levels and assist with rota management to ensure effective service delivery.
- Support children to engage with education, health services, appointments and community activities.
- Develop positive working relationships with families, social workers, schools and other professionals.
- Participate in care planning meetings, reviews and multi-agency meetings.
- Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Assist in preparing for inspections and implementing development plans and service improvements.
- Lead shifts when required and act as a positive role model for the team.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the service.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a passionate and experienced childcare professional who can demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound judgement and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Applicants must:
- Have substantial experience working within a residential children's home.
- Have experience in a senior residential, team leader or supervisory role.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead shifts, supervise staff and support service delivery.
- Hold a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
- Be aged 21 years or over.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be flexible to work shifts, weekends, on-call duties and sleep-ins as required.
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and trauma-informed care models.
- Experience contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
