Join the team at Flamingo Café Bar
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Flamingo Café Bar in Boscombe Spa.
Flamingo is a busy, independent café bar serving everything from quality brunches and speciality coffee to fresh seasonal dishes, cocktails and evening dining. We pride ourselves on producing fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our Head Chef to lead the kitchen, maintain exceptional standards and help develop our menus while ensuring every guest enjoys a fantastic experience.
The Role:
This is a hands-on position where you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll lead by example, motivate the team and ensure every dish leaving the pass is cooked to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
* Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to specification.
* Maintain excellent food presentation and consistency.
* Train, mentor and develop junior chefs.
* Help manage stock, ordering and deliveries.
* Minimise waste and maintain strong GP margins.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
* Keep the kitchen clean, organised and operating efficiently.
* Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and specials.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up.
* Thrives in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.
* Is passionate about fresh food and high standards.
* Leads by example and enjoys developing others.
* Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Remains calm under pressure with great attention to detail.
* Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred).

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
