Job Title: Independent Advocate
Location: Exeter EX2 and Cullompton EX15
Salary: £24,800 per annum (pro rata)
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time hours available (16 hours - 37.5 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

The Role:
As an Independent Advocate at Advent Advocacy, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred advocacy services. You will work directly with clients to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld in a variety of health and social care settings.
You will support individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, people facing social care or safeguarding issues and anyone who feels unable to represent themselves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individuals to understand their rights and their care and treatment options
- Ensuring clients are fully involved in decisions and that their views, wishes, and feelings are clearly communicated
- Providing non-judgemental, independent support that is free from conflict of interest
- Attending meetings to represent or support clients
- Helping individuals to make informed choices by explaining complex information in an accessible way
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with organisational and legal requirements
