We are launching a premium ladies-only fitness and wellness club in Peterborough, designed to offer a private, empowering, and high-quality environment for women. With a strong focus on Pilates, a dedicated cycle studio, spa facilities, and selectorised (pin-loaded) gym equipment, this is a unique concept built around comfort, safety, and results.
We are looking for an experienced, driven, and hands-on Gym & Spa Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of this exciting new venture.
About the Role
As Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility — from member experience and team leadership to revenue growth and operational excellence.
You will play a key role in shaping the culture of the gym, ensuring it is welcoming, professional, and aligned with the needs of a women-only environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Manage daily operations of the gym, studios, and spa facilities
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing all-female team
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and private environment for members
- Implement and manage women-only access policies and procedures
Member Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and member retention strategies
- Handle enquiries, feedback, and member concerns professionally
- Create a warm, community-driven atmosphere
Fitness & Class Offering
- Oversee class schedules including Pilates, cycling, yoga, and strength
- Ensure high standards of instruction and class experience
- Work with instructors to grow class participation and engagement
Revenue & Growth
- Drive membership sales and achieve monthly targets
- Develop additional revenue streams (PT, spa treatments, retail, classes)
- Monitor performance and implement improvements
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Maintain equipment standards (selectorised machines only, no free weights)
- Oversee privacy-focused measures within the facility
About You
- Proven experience managing a gym, fitness studio, or wellness facility
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Passionate about women’s health, fitness, and wellbeing
- Commercially aware with experience hitting sales/revenue targets
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Organised, proactive, and hands-on
- Experience with class-based studios (Pilates, cycling, etc.) is highly desirable
