Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cover Cleaner to join our team at Fleetwalk Shopping Centre. This role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various areas within the centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for shoppers and staff alike. Flexibility is essential, as this position may require covering shifts on short notice. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Conducting routine cleaning of public areas, including corridors, entrances, and communal facilities within the shopping centre
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors to maintain a pristine appearance
- Cleaning and sanitising washrooms, including fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste in accordance with centre policies
- Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll in designated areas
- Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Ensuring all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly after use
- Adapting to different areas within the centre as required to ensure continuous cleanliness coverage
Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and reliability in completing assigned tasks efficiently
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties which may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to cover shifts at short notice and adapt to changing schedules
