Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef/Cook to join us when our chef goes to hospital for major surgery he will be away for up to 4 months so we will need you that whole time we are not yet certain when this will be however we need someone who can fit into this job at short notice so that our service to the public can continue, we will know within the month of July when this event will go live and can let you know, then, if you fit into this uncertain start please apply if not then please do not apply.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals during service hours
- Oversee food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in training new team members on food preparation techniques and safety standards
- Ensure consistent quality in presentation and taste of all dishes served
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Supervising experience with team management skills to motivate staff effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during busy service periods
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire teamwork and maintain high morale
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
