This is a hands-on, entry-level role suited to someone punctual, enthusiastic and determined to learn, who takes pride in doing a thorough job and representing Avrenim professionally with clients. Full training and development will be provided to build fire door inspection knowledge and competence over time.

— Apply a quality-first approach, making sure each inspection is thorough and completed right first time.
Remedial Repairs:
— Complete basic remedial repairs to fire doors and associated components — such as seals, hinges, closers, gaps and ironmongery — where competent to do so.
— Escalate complex defects or works beyond the scope of basic remedials to the Fire Door Supervisor.
— Use tools, materials and components correctly and safely, keeping vehicle stock organised and replenished.
Records and Reporting:
— Complete digital job cards accurately and promptly for every inspection and repair, including photographs and measurements where required.
— Ensure all documentation is clear, complete and submitted on time to support compliance and client reporting.
— Keep the Fire Door Supervisor updated on progress, issues, and site access.
Client Service and Professionalism:
— Represent Avrenim professionally on client sites, being polite, courteous and respectful at all times.
— Arrive punctually and communicate clearly with site contacts and building users.
— Deliver an excellent customer experience and help to protect and strengthen client relationships.

— Work safely at all times, following Avrenim's IMS policies, risk assessments, method statements and safe working practices.
— Take responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues, clients and members of the public.
— Support Avrenim's sustainability, quality and equality and diversity commitments in day-to-day work.
Learning and Development:
— Show enthusiasm and a willingness and determination to learn, developing fire door inspection knowledge and competence over time.
— Complete training and qualifications as required to remain competent, including fire door inspection and health and safety.
— Take part in reviews, toolbox talks and team briefings, and act positively on feedback.
Person Specification:
Essential:
— Full UK driving licence — this is a mobile, vehicle-based role.
— Willingness and ability to travel nationally, including regular overnight stays away from home.
— Punctual, reliable and self-motivated, with a quality-first attitude.
— Polite, courteous and professional when dealing with clients and the public.
— Enthusiastic, willing and determined to learn new skills.
— Practical aptitude and confidence using basic hand tools.
— Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to complete digital job cards.
Desirable:
— Experience in fire door inspection, joinery, carpentry, maintenance or a related trade.
— A fire door inspection or installation qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
— Recognised health and safety awareness, such as a CSCS card, or willingness to obtain one.
— Awareness of passive fire protection and building compliance requirements.
— DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
