We have an exciting new job opportunity for a Brushing and Polishing Technician to join our small but essential team working in Witham.

In addition, we deliver full vehicle development, including chassis and powertrain, to high net-worth heritage racers via our heritage racing division, ADP Classic Racing. We restore and rebuild high-end classic racing cars, prepare drivers, manage a programme of touring and racing, and provide full event support.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role is based at our Witham engineering facility.
- Polishing and Finishing: Perform polishing and finishing operations on various metals, mainly aluminium, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Surface Inspection: Inspect surfaces for defects, scratches, or imperfections before and after polishing and finishing operations to ensure quality standards are met.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for polishing and finishing operations by cleaning, degreasing, and applying appropriate coatings or compounds.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean polishing equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating polishing machinery and handling hazardous materials. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of polished surfaces and make adjustments as necessary to meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of polishing processes, including materials used, polishing techniques applied, and quality inspection results.
- Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate workflow, share information about polishing techniques and best practices, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in polishing technology and techniques through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Teamwork: Work cooperatively with other members of the manufacturing or production team to achieve common goals and deadlines. Assist in other areas of production as needed.
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to polishing processes, equipment, or materials, and implement solutions to ensure smooth operations.
- Time Management: Prioritise tasks effectively to meet production schedules and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Skills and Experience Required
- Excellent eye for detail
- Innovative approach to problem-solving
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Previous experience in a similar role is desired
Shift information
Monday to Friday, 08:00-4:30
Overtime
Overtime is available dependent upon the successful completion of probation period and the requirements of the business.
