What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities in Key Stage 5 where appropriate, in line with curriculum requirements and school expectations
- Confidently managing classroom behaviour and upholding school policies regarding safeguarding, conduct, and academic standards
- Adapting quickly to new school environments while maintaining continuity and high-quality learning for students
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with EHCPs, SEND, and additional learning needs
- Following lesson plans provided by departments or, where required, planning and delivering lessons within your subject specialism
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, Heads of Department, and Senior Leadership Teams to support student progress and wellbeing
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment in both mainstream and specialist settings
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs encouraged to apply)
- Experience teaching in secondary schools across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience advantageous but not essential)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and adaptive teaching strategies
- Confidence in differentiating learning and supporting students with additional needs
- Flexibility, professionalism, and a proactive approach to teaching
- The ability to build positive relationships quickly with students and staff
Safeguarding
At Schools Mutual Services, we regard safeguarding as a top priority. All staff must have a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to undergo the application process through ourselves. We also require valid education safeguarding training, which we provide completely free of charge.
