Dovetail Specialist Joinery Ltd is a well‑established bespoke joinery manufacturer serving domestic and commercial clients for over 20 years. We are seeking an experienced Technical Joinery Designer & CNC Programmer to support our design‑to‑manufacture operations.
This is a design‑led, technical role with responsibility for producing detailed CAD drawings and CNC programs for bespoke joinery and furniture projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed joinery manufacturing drawings from client, architect, or internal design briefs
- Developing technical specifications and shop drawings using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software
- Translating designs into CNC programs (CAM) for 3‑ and 5‑axis machining
- Producing cut lists, assembly drawings, and CNC outputs
- Supporting efficient manufacturing by ensuring designs are manufacture‑ready
- Liaising with production to resolve technical design queries
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in a joinery design / technical drafting role
- Strong experience using AutoCAD for manufacturing drawings
- Experience producing CNC programs using CAM software
- Ability to interpret architectural and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of digital manufacturing processes
Desirable
- Experience with Fusion 360, AlphaCAM, Cabinet Vision
- Experience supporting bespoke joinery or furniture production
- Familiarity with 3‑ or 5‑axis CNC machining workflows
