About Us
Identity Music is a rapidly growing music company dedicated to ensuring our global roster of composers and artists are properly credited and compensated. We are looking for a detail-obsessed Music Publishing & Royalties Administrator to join our team in Lamberhurst.
This is not a general office admin role. You will be the technical linchpin managing the lifecycle of musical compositions, directly impacting how our composers get paid globally.
What You'll Do
- Global Work Registration: Meticulously register compositions with global collection societies (PRS for Music, MCPS, ASCAP, BMI, etc.).
- Metadata Management: Oversee complex data submissions including IPI/CAE numbers, ISWC codes, song splits, and writer shares.
- Data Auditing & Integrity: Maintain our internal publishing database, resolve double-claims or disputes, and audit historical data for missing royalties.
- Composer & Society Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for our composers and PROs regarding registration issues and payment queries.
Required Experience & Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Prior Music Industry / Publishing Experience: A solid, foundational understanding of music publishing, copyright, and the roles of PROs (specifically PRS/MCPS).
- Data Literacy: Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUPs, data cleaning, handling large metadata sheets).
- Extreme Precision: A mistake in an IPI number or split sheet means a creator doesn't get paid. You must have a proven track record of managing highly detailed datasets.
- Location & Transport: Must be able to commute to our Lamberhurst office daily (Monday–Friday) and hold a valid UK Driving Licence with access to a car (due to our rural office location).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience using CWR (Common Works Registration) delivery formats.
- Direct experience working in a rights management or royalty department at a publisher, label, or distributor.
